April ( and a wee bit of May ) 2012

Month of birthdays starting with my Mom's.  Also exciting news this week Greg bought me a Harley - I have wanted a Harley for a while now and it is on my bucket list - so "check" another item completed!
Our Anniversary - 19 wonderful years.
Tactical Troop (Riot ) Training one of my favourite times of the year!
I love shoes and when I saw the photo of the cupcake stiletto shoes o the internet I HAD to make them.  I even came up with a party to host as the perfect excuse to make them - they turned out excellent - lots of work though...

We heard from Africa with an update on Rian and received our yearly report on Anabel in Bolivia too - thought Project Life is a perfect place to keep these reports - I had to cut and sew some page protectors to fit.

First year that Anabel has drawn us a picture - we have sponsored her since she was a baby - how the years pass.

March 2012

I thought this month might be anti-climatic but no it was back to the airport a couple of times actually!
March break we had company - my nieces came to stay in "the big city"
I was asked to go to Ottawa to take part in a focus group -why not I love Ottawa.  Got to visit some friends and Joy took me for the best Thai food.  Home enough time to unpack, do laundry, repack and go again - this time to Regina!
I have only been to Regina one other time since Training there in 1988.  So exciting to see the Training Depot again and all the transformations over the years.  The course I was on is one I have wanted for a few years - females rarely get selected to go and I was the only one on my course - I love proving that girls can do anything ! (Note used a flip flap again)  An added bonus over and above the course was my first cousin lives like two blocks from the Training Academy so I got to spend some time with her - what a great time we had catching up.

Still February...London England

Because we always have trouble letting go of vacations and returning home we decided to make a short stop over in London on the way home from Africa - that short stop over turned into a week - and what a great week it was!  The spring weather was fantastic and London is a very interesting city.  We even took the train to Shrewsbury and visited some distant cousins.
With my cupcake making this year I was delighted to find this shop around the corner from our hotel - the photo of the shop is mine just added to the shops brochure.  It is in a page protector that I again sewed to fit exactly to the paper size.

 Design G pages added...

A 6 x 12 with a piece of folded cardstock - everywhere I go I get business cards for the restaurants and hotels - they have come in handy.

A Flip Flap to get those 2 extra spaces that I felt I desperately needed!

 Another Flip Flap

So that is our February in a nutshell...what an Adventure!

February 2012

Finally off to Africa seems I have been waiting and counting the days forever.  I have completed my Project Life Pages separately for the trip (not completing as separate weeks for this month).
This added insert is cut down from larger Design G

An 8.5 x 11 and a piece of cardstock great way to add some items!

More cut inserts this one is from Design F

I also cut and sew Page Pockets - I pick the closest size and then sew around the item to make it fit perfectly!

Moving on to the Safari and "vacation" part of the adventure was bittersweet but awesome - I couldn't get over how close and how many animals were right next to you!  Unbelievable!

So sad that this trip ended - but amazing and some of the best photos I have ever taken.  We will remember this forever and will certainly go back to Africa again!
